Two systems were deployed at Batalha, aiming at improving the performance of the LV grid, operated by EDP Distribuição. Each system was installed in a secondary substation and in selected downstream LV feeders. This deployment corresponds, actually to two independent demonstrators, DEMO 1 and DEMO2.

DEMO 1

Description: One of the secondary substations has one 3-phase LV feeder with an underground segment that becomes aerial after serving several householders. It also has a public lighting circuit that serves the same area, but in the point where the LV feeder becomes aerial, the public light circuit bifurcates, serving a parking zone and another residential area.

DEMO 2

Description: The other secondary substation has one 3-phase LV feeder, fully aerial. It also has a public lighting circuit that goes along the LV feeder, meaning that both 3-phase LV and public lighting circuits share the same poles holding the overhead aerial circuits.
